The photos should depict the beauty of Czechia, whether through its nature, architecture, culture, culinary delights, and/or modern marvels. They may feature the world-famous sights and historical wonders of Prague and other major cities or paths less traveled throughout the Czech countryside and villages.  They may incorporate people and their joy, amazement, nostalgia, or other emotions felt during their travels.

The Czech Embassy will collect the photographs in honor of Czech automobile racer Eliška Junková and her love of travel, ahead of the Czech Embassy’s Mutual Inspirations Festival 2023 – Eliška Junková.  Selected photographs will be exhibited at the Czech Embassy on May 13, 2023.

The Best Photos

The Embassy of the Czech Republic reserves the right to judge, select, and print the submitted photos, which it deems best within its discretion. The Embassy will display said best photos via an exhibition within its premises during the month of May 2023. The opening of the exhibition will be during the Embassy’s annual open house on Saturday, May 13, from 10am-4pm. Each year, nearly 4,000 people visit the Embassy’s open house. The Embassy will notify the authors of the photos of their selection to be in the exhibition.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic further reserves the right to publish and post any of the submitted photos on its website at www.mzv.cz/washington and www.mutualinspirations.org as well as the Embassy’s social media. Photo credit will be duly accredited to each and every photo whenever it is published or displayed.

Mutual Inspirations Festival 2023 – Eliška Junková

The Mutual Inspirations Festival is an annual initiative spearheaded by the Embassy of the Czech Republic, focusing on the mutual inspirations between Czech and American cultures and featuring each year in September through November an extraordinary Czech personality. In its fourteenth year, the festival will celebrate Czech automobile racer Eliška Junková, her love of travel and modern machinery, as well as other inspiring female leaders. SUBMISSION OF MATERIALS

●  The photograph must be sent to the email address at czechembassypr@gmail.com. Deadline is no later than March 31, 2023. For larger files, please send via dropbox. Up to three photographs, preferably taken in the last ten years, may be submitted per participant.  

● Please put “Photo Competition” in the subject line of your email. Please include your first and last name and contact information.

● Please include a one sentence description of where the photo was taken in the Czech Republic and why the photo is special.

●  Please submit digital, high resolution photos, preferably in JPG format. For smart phone photos, please submit at the highest quality possible.

TERMS OF SUBMISSION

•  All photographs and other content or information submitted to the Embassy of the Czech Republic shall become the property of the Embassy of the Czech Republic, and the Embassy shall have no obligation to preserve, return, or otherwise make available any photographs and/or information so submitted.

• The individual understands that because the Embassy of the Czech Republic becomes the owner of all submitted photographs, the Embassy of the Czech Republic and its diplomats, employees, successors, and assigns may use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, modify, publish, and otherwise make use of the submitted photographs and descriptions in any and all print, internet, media, and media social outlets, without compensation to the individual of any kind.

• By submitting any photograph, text, or other content or information to the Czech Embassy, the individual hereby represents and warrants that the submitted photograph(s) and description(s) do not infringe on any copyright or trademark, any rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party. The individual hereby represents and warrants that he or she has the right to transfer the photograph(s) and description(s) to the Embassy of the Czech Republic free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.

• The individual hereby agrees to hold the Embassy of the Czech Republic and its diplomats, employees, successors, and assigns harmless from and against—and hereby waive any right to pursue—any claims of any nature arising in connection with the Czech Embassy’s use of the submitted photograph(s) and description(s).
