Czech Machines on American Fields

American and Canadian businesses visited the Czech Republic to learn more about the agricultural machinery, which has found success in North America.

Their week long program was supported by the Czech Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs, a fruitful project of economic diplomacy. The six American and Canadian companies met with Deputy Minister for Agricultural Commodities, Foreign Relations and Organic Farming Jiří Šír and visited oil pressing plants in Milín and Kolín.

Moreover, the main focus of the program was to meet with representatives of successful Czech agricultural machinery and equipment companies Farmet, JK Machinery and Zetor Tractors.

Czech company Farmet, headquartered in Česká Skalice, is celebrating its 25 year anniversary this year and, hence, the program included participation in its celebrations, which were attended by a multitude of international visitors. The visitors had the chance to view several demonstrations of Farmet technology directly on the farm fields.

The visitors also met with the director of marketing and sales of Zetor Tractors in the city of Brno to discuss collaboration with its branch Zetor North America in Florida.

The Head of the Economic Department of the Czech Embassy in Washington, DC, Tomáš Hart accompanied the American and Canadian businesses during their program in the Czech Republic. He concluded at the end of the program, “Thanks to our companies, we have improved American and Canadian awareness of the high quality of our products. Other companies should follow Farmet’s example, which established its branch in the US two years ago and is now seeing it was well worth it.”
