UJV Group in Washington DC

On November 28-29, 2106, a delegation consisting of the UJV Group (UJV Rez and Research Centre Rez) visited Washington, DC. Their visit included meetings at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Energy, where they discussed the ongoing cooperation on new reactor technologies using molten salt.

The highlight of the visit was a meeting with US nuclear companies that took place at the premises of the U.S. Nuclear Energy Institute. During a more than 3-hour long discussion with their US partners, the UJV Group presented Czech know-how in the field of nuclear research and engineering and discussed opportunities for Czech-U.S. cooperation.  The UJV Group further met with the NuScale Power company, a global pioneer of small modular reactors. Within the realm of their full program, the delegation also held discussions with representatives from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Maryland.
