Legislative Outline for Rebuilding Infrastructure in America

On Feb. 12, 2018, the White House published a plan to rebuild the US infrastructure. A detailed, 53-page, document is intended for the US Congress as a guide to discuss this issue and to adopt the relevant laws to ensure implementation of the proposed infrastructure reconstruction plan.

The six principles of the plan include:

-       $200 billion in federal funds to spur at least $1.5 trillion in infrastructure investments with partners at the state, local, tribal, and private level.

-       New investments will be made in rural America, which has been left behind for too long.

-       Decision making authority will be returned to state and local governments.

-       Regulatory barriers that needlessly get in the way of infrastructure projects will be removed.

-       Permitting for infrastructure projects will be streamlined and shortened.

-       America’s workforce will be supported and strengthened.

$ 200 billion will be allocated as follows:

-       $ 100 billion for the Incentive Program

-       $ 20 billion will be dedicated to the Transformation Projects program. In this case, these may be high-speed rail projects, but may also be the Hyperloop tunnel rail project between Washington and New York of an investor and innovator Elon Musk

-       $ 20 billion will be allocated to expand existing infrastructure financing programs

-       $ 10 billion will be directed to the new Federal Revolving Fund, which will reduce the ineffective leasing of federal real estate if it is effective to buy them

-       $ 50 billion from federal funds will be devoted to a new infrastructure project in rural areas

The Infrastructure Reconstruction Plan will be implemented over the next 10 years and will offer countless business opportunities for both US and foreign companies.
