The 25^th European Festival was held in Yangon from 16^th September to 27 September 2016. The Czech Republic have participated for the second time since the festival was established and for the first time since the reopening of the Czech Embassy in Yangon. Compared to last year, in 2016 the organizers decided to enrich the festival with a section of films for children. Due to its availability to the public, the screening was placed into  the Yangon Gallery at the local People's Park. Thanks to the rich history of making cinemas for the youngest, the Czech Republic has always something to offer. For this year's presentation we selected a film Pat and Mat: The Movie by director Marek Beneš, that is based on the globally successful original series,  that celebrated 40 years anniversary this year since its first appearence on screen. The film that is composed of ten episodes chosen from the TV series was screened in the Czech cinemas for the first time on 31. 3. 2016. Judging from the interest shown by child spectators present at the screening (both Myanmar and foreign) we can tell that Pat and Mat have already found their little fans even here in Yangon.
