The 10th edition of Wathann Independent Film Festival, which has been financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic since its very beginning, took place From 10 to 18 October 2020.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival moved online this year. Viewers who visited its website had the opportunity to watch 37 films by young promising filmmakers. This year's Wathann also offered two program innovations - the "Cinema in the Living Room" section, which presented 7 short films from Southeast Asia, and a special program "Reflections on the New Normal", that focused on issues related to coronavirus pandemic.

The film festival also had a competition part. Domestic and foreign jurors, including Czech filmmaker Vít Janeček, awarded a total of 11 prizes. They selected the best films in four categories: Short Film, Documentary, New Vision in Film Production and Best Beginner Filmmaker, and showed also their support to the work of local artists by special awards granted to the best cinematographer, sound engineer, best actor and by other special mentions.
