With a great sorrow, I learnt the news on the demise of His Holiness Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI was a great theologian and will be remembered by the Catholic community for his selfless contributions to the Catholic faith and for his untiring efforts to find a common path in promoting peace.

Your Excellency, please allow me to express my sincere condolences to the members of the Catholic Church in the name of the whole Czech Embassy.

In this sad moment, I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your Excellency the assurances of my highest consideration.
