PM Receives Czech Health Ministry Delegation

Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received the delegation of the Czech Ministry of Health, headed by Deputy Ministers Radek Polisar and Tom Philip.

To begin with, the Prime Minister thanked the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic for the recent adoption of a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide and other crimes against humanity.

With reference to the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the health sector, the Premier stressed the importance of making joint efforts to implement investment projects in the healthcare business. The Prime Minister said Armenia may provide a good platform for investment, taking into account of the improved business environment, the ongoing reform to combat corruption, as well as the access to third-country markets.

Czech Ambassador Petr Mikyska advised that several Czech businesses are keen to enter the Armenian market. They are closely following the steps taken by the Government to effectively improve the business environment, and many of them have already taken specific steps.

Presenting the results of the discussions held with their partners from the Armenian Ministry of Healthcare, Czech Deputy Health Ministers Radek Polisar and Tom Philip said to be impressed by the healthcare reform in Armenia, noting that there are opportunities for cooperation in the fields of clinical medicine, e-health, hospital management, research and other directions.

As a result, an agreement was reached to continue endeavoring toward the furtherance of interaction mediating reciprocated visits and contacts, as well as through exchange of expertise, including the international platforms.

Welcoming the aforementioned activities, Prime Minister Karapetyan noted that Armenia is striving to create a modern and competitive healthcare system and, in this respect, is eager to master the successful experience of other countries.
