In 2012, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic donated 10 computers, 4 plotters and 4 printers to the Department of Architecture of the Rivers State University in Port Harcout. The total value of the donation was 3 080 000 Naira. 20 000 students attend the Rivers State University. The aim of the small development project was to improve quality of technical education in Rivers State University.

The handover of donation by the 3rd secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Lubomír Pšenka, to the representatives of Rivers State University took place in March 2013. Mr. Pšenka organised also a seminar for representatives of secondary schools and presented opportunities for studying in the Czech Republic for talented students studying on their own expenses.
