“Social and Economic Inclusion of Roma Citizens” workshop

On 21 – 22 June 2012 a workshop on social and economic inclusion of the Roma citizens took place in Bucharest. The event was organized within the framework of the Czech Republic´s presidency in the Visegrád Group.

On 21 June experts on Roma inclusion from the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine met on the premises of the European Commission Representation in Bucharest to share their experience with the implementation of specific projects. The following day a public presentation summarizing the workshop and a discussion took place, followed by an event at the residence of the Czech Ambassador Jiří Šitler. Comic strips about the Roma people “O Příbjehi” and Romani traditional hand-made products were displayed at the Ambassador´s residence for the event, attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Protection Denisa-Oana Patrascu, representatives of other Romania´s institutions as well as NGO´s, ambassadors and diplomats as well as journalists.

The workshop was organized by the Resource Center for Public Participation – CeRe (Romania) together with Keynote (Czech Republic) with financial support of the Black Sea Fund for Regional Cooperation and the International Visegrad Fund.
