"The Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year 2022" on display at PMQ from 29th July till 13th August.

 
Consulate General of the Czech Republic in cooperation with Museum of Czech Literature and the Ministry of Culture proudly presents the winning books of the year 2022. Last year marked the 58th edition of this annual prestigious competition that assesses not only contemporary book design, but also quality and originality of the print and bookbinding.

Last year marked the 58th edition of this annual prestigious competition that assesses not only contemporary book design, but also quality and originality of the print and bookbinding.

You will get to admire the three best books of each of the seven categories  (Non-fiction Literature, Fiction, Children`s and Young Adult Literature, Textbooks for All Educational Stages and Other Teaching Aids, Visual Art Books, Catalogues and Bibliophile Books and Artists` Books). It is for the first time that "The Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year” are introduced to the Hong Kong audience.

Aside from the winning books, special mentions for the best young artist under 30, the outstanding execution of printing, the excellent visual accompaniment and special prizes awarded by the Association of Commercial Printers and Czech Union of Graphic Design will be shown.

Come browse books in our "Czech Reading Corner”. Books in English and Czech provided by Czech publishing houses Albatros Media, Práh, BAOBAB, UNIVERSUM etc. and/or authors of "H2O" adventure series (Petr Stančík and Galina Miklínová),  Renata Fučíková (illustrator and author) and others.

Join us for the exhibition, reading and playing (Igracek toys will be displayed in the reading corner)! You are in for a surprise, too, as a set of "book" exercises will be shown and encouraged throughout the exhibition.
