1.11. Místní zvyklosti důležité pro obchodní kontakty
Fiskální rok je od dubna do března. Všeobecně užívanou měrovou jednotkovou soustavou jsou jednotky britského systému, ovšem pro plyn a benzín jsou požívány americké galony. Většina obchodů, restaurací, půjčoven automobilů a hotelů akceptuje běžné platební karty (nejrozšířenější VISA nebo MasterCard).
Při obchodním jednání je dodržována základní módní etiketa. Kromě pánského obleku a košile s kravatou je hojně využívána také guyabera s dlouhým rukávem. V neformálních kontaktech lze nosit kalhoty a košili nebo guyaberu s krátkým rukávem. Za účelem obchodního jednání je nutné sjednat si schůzku předem. Velká dochvilnost není zvykem a mírné zpoždění je tolerováno.

ČR nemá s Belize uzavřenou žádnou bilaterální dohodu o vzájemném poskytování zdravotních služeb. Místní lékařská péče (především v hlavním městě) je na dobré úrovni, částky na úhradu pro cizince však jsou velmi vysoké. Je proto nanejvýš žádoucí zajistit si zdravotní připojištění již v ČR.
