Czech Republic confirmed its humanitarian assistance to Yemen in 2018

United Nations in cooperation with Sweden and Switzerland organised a High-Level Pledging Event for the Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen on 4th April 2018. On behalf of the Czech Republic, Mr. Michal Kaplan, Deputy Permanent Representative, announced a humanitarian assistance in the amount of approx. 0.6 mil. USD in 2018. This pledge is in line with the two-year commitment of the Czech Republic for the period 2017-2018 totalling 1.1. mil. USD.

This contribution will be attributed evenly to three organizations, namely IOM, ICRC and WFP to meet needs for health assistance, water, nutrition and protection. At the same time the Czech Republic appealed to all parts of the conflict to respect the International Humanitarian Law and to create conditions for a safe humanitarian access.
