Czech National Day celebrations in New Delhi and Mumbai

Czech Independence Day was celebrated this year in both Mumbai on 29th October 2013 and in New Delhi on 30th October 2013.

The celebrations in New Delhi took place in the premises of Embassy of the Czech Republic in the presence of Chief Guest Shrimati Preneet Kaur, State Minister of External Affairs of India and in participation of more than 700 people from Indian government, business circles and diplomatic corps.

National Day in Mumbai was celebrated in Trident Hotel by more than 350 people, representing corporates, Bollywood representatives and cultural field, under the auspices of Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Mumbai Mrs. Rashmi Jolly and Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi. The evening was inaugurated by Ambassador Mr. M. Stasek.

Czech National Day celebrations in both Indian cities were accompanied by a „road show“ of 12 Czech prominent producers of food and beverages, such main sponsor Budejovicky Budvar (beer), Hame (processed food), Kostelecke uzeniny (processed meat), Novotny Ginger Bread, Horicke trubicky (sweets), Bohemia sekt (sparkling wine), Vinselekt Michlovsky (wine), Rudolf Jelinek (liquers and destilates), Becheroka (liquer), Stock Plzen – Bozkov (liquers) and CBIC (beer).

During the National Reception in New Delhi, new version of Skoda Octavia was introduced to diplomatic corps by Managing Director of Skoda Auto India Mr. Sudhir Rao.

Both evenings were accompanied by classical music of „Spork Quartet“.
