CZ elected to the UN Human Rights Council

The UN General Assembly overwhelmingly voted on Tuesday, May 10th to elect the Czech Republic to the Human Rights Council (HRC) following Russia's suspension from the body over its war in Ukraine.
The Czech Republic received 157 votes cast by UN member states with 23 countries opting to abstain. The Czech Republic was the only candidate, and a majority of 97 votes was required.
