EUCCC Organized Presentation and Cocktail for the Czech Consul General

On 22nd April 2016 EU Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) held an event in Chengdu for the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Chengdu Mr. Zbyněk Noha where he presented his country and Czech – Sichuan relations (or relations between Czechia and Southwestern China).

The Czech Republic was described as an attractive destination for foreign investment, a beautiful country for a visit by tourists, a reliable and stable business partner, a traditional source of high technology and skilled and well educated workforce. The Czech Republic´s most successful investment in China is represented by Home Credit whose managers were also present. On the other hand, one of the highly-valued Chinese investments in the Czech Republic comes from Sichuan province: Changhong.

Both the Czech Republic and Southwestern China enjoy rich and dynamic relations, including regional partnerships, cooperation in the field of aviation including pilot training, automotive industry, machinery, glass production, education, health etc. Prague and Chengdu are well connected also thanks to the direct flight by Sichuan Airlines.

The presentation included also information about the Czech culture, food, drinks, sport and the most famous brands. Some samples of Czech cuisine were served during the cocktail that followed, including one of the most famous brands of Czech beer Budweiser Budvar.

The event was attended by business community from Sichuan Province, regional and municipal government officials, diplomats, media, intellectuals and organizers from EUCCC including its regional Head.
