Visit to Bornholm

On 21 – 22 May 2014 the Czech Ambassador Jiří Brodský visited Bornholm, a region of eastern Denmark.

On the first day of the trip organized by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he met with Winnie Grosbøll, Mayor of Bornholm Regional Municipality, together with other heads of diplomatic missions. He also visited the Cooperative Dairy St. Clemens and the company Hasle Røgeri which specializes in smoked fish products. Afterwards he met with representatives of the Danish Nature Agency and attended a dinner arranged by Lars Thuesen, State-Secretary of Trade and Strategy of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The next day the ambassadors learnt about the activities of the company Jensen Denmark which produces washing and ironing machines for large professional laundries and in the Czech Republic has its representation in the town of Odry.

The ambassadors also met with the Chairman of the Board of the Bornholm Energy System and with the general manager of the company Bofa which deals with the processing of waste and its use in the energy sector. Finally they visited the microbrewery Svaneke, the private glass company Baltic Sea Glass and Bornholm Art Museum. On 13 September – 23 November 2014 the museum will host an exhibition of contemporary ceramics by artists from European countries. The Czech Republic will be represented with art work by Šárka Radová a Zdeněk Manina.
