Minister Alexandr Vondra decorated Tatiana Gard, daughter of brigadier general i.m. František Moravec with State Defence Cross of Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic. The ceremony was attended by former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

Minister Schwarzenberg met US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Chairwoman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on European Affairs. Minister Schwarzenberg expressed his thanks for her statement supporting V4 declaration "Responsibility for a strong NATO". They discussed issues of Afghánistan, Western Balkans and relations with Russia. Minister Schwarzenberg with President, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic attended the launch of the NATO Summit.
