Deputy Minister met the State Secretary of Flanders Julie Bynens on 27 April 2022. They signed the new Cooperation Programme between the Czech Republic and Flanders for 2022 – 2024 covering the projects related to transport, foreign trade, environment, social affairs, culture, education and science.
They used the opportunity to discuss the upcoming Czech EU Presidency, the Russian aggression towards Ukraine, questions of energetics and other current foreign policy topics. Given the decentralization of Belgium it is important to develop our relations not only with the federal government, but also with the regions which have competences in foreign policy. Flanders took part in the renovation of Pieter Brueghel´s room in Lobkowicz collection of the Prague Castle.
