Statement of the MFA on OPCW report

The Czech Republic takes note of today’s publication of results of the independent analysis carried out by the Technical Secretariat of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) upon request by the United Kingdom made under Art. 8 of the Convention.

Its objective was to establish which chemical agent had been used in the attack against Mr S Skripal and his daughter on 4 March 2018 in Salisbury. As for the type of the chemical agent used, the analysis confirms previous British conclusions.

We reiterate our solidarity with the United Kingdom on this matter and strongly support all international efforts to fully investigate this crime, to identify its perpetrators and to establish the origins of the agent used.
