Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Russian missile attacks on Ukraine

This morning Russia attacked several Ukrainian cities with massive missile strikes. The center of Kiev, Zaporozhye, Dnipro, Zhitomir, Mykolaiv, Khmelnitsky, Kremenchuk and Lviv and Ternopol regions were hit. The targets are civilian objects. Civilians are killed and wounded.

This once again confirms that Russia is only interested in destroying a neighboring state and causing suffering to its brave citizens. We call on Russia to stop this senseless war!

Today's barbaric attack is further proof of the cynicism and cowardice of the Russian regime. Russia continues to commit crimes on the territory of Ukraine. The Czech Republic will continue to push for the creation of special judicial tribunal to bring to justice all Russian representatives responsible for this act of unprovoked aggression.

The Czech Republic will continue to assist Ukraine and its citizens in their just defense against Russia's criminal aggression and in their struggle for the liberation of all occupied territories. We call on all those for whom freedom, mutual respect, sovereignty, cooperation, peaceful coexistence and respect for human life are essential elements of international relations to do so. Russia has trampled on them again today.
