The ‚Velvet Night‘ programme included a debate with former diplomats and key personalities of the Velvet Revolution Michael Žantovský and Pavpl Demeš, followed by a concert of classical Czech and Slovak music, speeches by the guests and a gala dinner in the dining hall of Oxford's Pembroke College. Ambassador Chatardová gave a speech in which she recalled her experience of the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968 and the Velvet Revolution and highlighted the important role of students at key moments in the history of the Czech Republic.
