Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský began a working trip in New Delhi during which he will visit India, Australia and Japan. In New Delhi, Lipavský held talks with his Indian counterpart External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and addressed the Raisina Dialogue, an important international platform on geopolitics and global economy.

At the Raisina Dialogue, Minister Lipavsky spoke, among other things, about reducing dependence on unreliable partners and diversifying resources. "The undesirability of dependence on a small number of suppliers was fully demonstrated during the COVID pandemic and soon afterwards a similar situation repeated itself due to Russian aggression in Ukraine. Therefore, we are trying to diversify our economic relations and expand our cooperation not only with traditional partners."

The meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar confirmed the intensity of Czech-Indian relations, as the two heads of diplomacy have held their sixth interaction in the last two years. The partners appreciated the recent adoption of the Czech-India strategic partnership in the field of innovation, discussed economic cooperation, including the desirable diversification of resources and suppliers, and last but not least, defence industrial cooperation and security.

"We have already accomplished a number of tasks, we are fulfilling a number of tasks and more are naturally ahead of us. Czech interests are heard in India," Minister Lipavský said after the meeting.

On the sidelines of the conference, the head of Czech diplomacy also met with Tanzanian Foreign Minister January Yusuf Makamba, whom he informed about the possibilities of economic cooperation in agriculture, health, security and defence. 

Minister Jan Lipavsky also opened a business forum at the Czech Embassy in New Delhi and met briefly with the leadership of the Confederation of Indian Industry. At the same time, he introduced to Indian partners the Czech companies in the fields of information technology, software solutions for digitalization, automation and robotics, marketing with AI support, academia sector and food industry. Minister Lipavsky also met with the management of Skoda Auto India, which has been successfully operating in the country for over twenty years.
