Invitation: Future of Eastern Partnership beyond 2020

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019 (from 9 a.m. to 12 noon), the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU (Rue Caroly 15, 1050 Brussels) is co-organizing a seminar on the Future of Eastern Partnership beyond 2020 . Please register by November 30.

You may register at bit.ly/EaPbeyond2020 or via e.mail: brussels@europeum.org.

In 2019, the Eastern Partnership policy celebrates its 10-year anniversary since its launching during the Prague Summit of 2009. Over the past decade, this policy has gone through turbulent times, but it has also managed to achieve some very significant results. After the first decade of its existence, DG NEAR and EEAS organised a public consultation on the future of Eastern Partnership beyond 2020, which allowed for exchange and input from the civil society, academia, the EU member states, business community or the Eastern Partnership countries. The crucial question is how to best ensure that the Eastern Partnership stays as a relevant policy concept beyond 2020.

This is closely linked to what its content on both bilateral and multilateral levels should be in the future? What did the strategic reflection of the 10 years of the Eastern Partnership bring and what priorities should the EU take on board? The Eastern Partnership is one of the long-term research priorities of the Association for International Affairs, which will present its own take on the future of Eastern Partnership and is happy to cooperate on this event together with the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU and Think Visegrad platform.
