The Honorary Consul in Perth, Jitka Smith, accompanied her speech with a presentation that drew attention to extraordinary personalities throughout Czech history and what they brought to society at the time and their contribution to a variety of fields of human activity. The Consul-General of the Czech Republic in Sydney Mrs Zuzana Slováková, took the opportunity to highlight the contribution of Honorary Consulates both from the perspective of accomplishing the tasks of Czech diplomacy overseas, as well as providing Czech citizens with access to certain aspects of the consular agenda. During her speech, she drew special attention to Jitka Smith, who is both Honorary Consul and the president of the Czech and Slovak Association of Western Australia, as well as a teacher in the Czech School operating under said organisation. The Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic Jitka Smith, has been carrying out her duties in Perth since April 1, 2022, when the consulate was technically opened.
