The Czech Ambassador and his colleagues from Germany and Sweden took part in a panel discussion at the Summer School for international students at Narva College on EU-Russia relations.

The "Narva Summer School 2021" organized by the Jean Monnet BEAR network ("Between the EU and Russia: Dimensions of Diversity and Contestation") took place at Narva College, Tartu University on 5 - 10 July, 2021.

The main topics focused on contacts and disputes between the EU and Russia, the formation of minority identities along the borders, the dynamics of social movements in the countries of the region, external threats and global challenges. The summer school was attended mainly by MA and PhD students from European and North American universities. Lectures and discussions were organised also for civil society activists.

The panel discussion on 6 July was attended by Ambassador David Král along with his colleagues, Swedish Ambassador Mikael Eriksson and German Ambassador Christiane Hohmann. In the discussion, the ambassadors touched upon various issues, such as recent Biden - Putin summit in Geneva, debate on Russia in the June European Council or the completion of the Nord Streem 2 gas pipeline. David Král in his intervention also explained the background of a recent diplomatic row between the Czech Republic and Russia including its repercussions in the EU and in bilateral relations of both countries.

In the framework of his visit to Narva, Ambassador Král along with his Swedish counterpart also paid a visit to the legendary Kreenholm industrial complex, nowadays used mainly as a centre for arts. The guided tour was provided by the Swedish honorary consul in Narva Jaanus Mikk.
