On 30 May 2012 the Ambassador Jiří Šitler attended the opening of Czech artist David Možný´s videoart project Rahova. Later that day he answered questions of the audience at the public reading of Czech books within the Bucharest Night of Literature. On 31 May 2012 Jiří Šitler opened the launching of the Romanian translation of the Czech book Journey to nowhere by Martin Vopěnka.

The latest videoart project of Czech artist David Možný is called Rahova just as a housing estate on the suburb of Bucharest, one of the biggest in Eastern Europe. The installation made by the artist especially for Bucharest is a critical document on architecture and urbanism.

The launching of the Romanian translation of Martin Vopěnka´s book Drum spre niciunde (Journey to nowhere) took place in the Bookfest book fair on 31 May with the participation of the author as well as of the book´s translator Helliana Ianculescu. Martin Vopěnka is one of the Czech writers whose texts translated into Romanian were read during the Night of Literature on 30 May between 8 PM and midnight in the Löwendal Museum in Bucharest. Among others were the playwright Václav Havel and economist Tomáš Sedláček.
