New Rules for Travelers to the Czech Republic valid since SEP 21st 2020

Since 21/9/2020 all travelers to the Czech Republic are obligated to fill in an online form at the following website: www.prijezdovyformular.cz  prior to their departure. They are obligated to show the filled and printed form during the passport control at the Czech frontiers.

On 21st September 2020, another update of the protective measure of the Ministry of Health came into force (dated 18th September 2020, file no. MZDR 20599 / 2020-30 / MIN / KAN, attached link below the text) concerning the restriction of crossing the state border and issues of entry into the territory of the Czech Republic.

Egypt remains out of the list of countries at low risk of COVID-19.

I.   The new method of reporting arrivals to the hygienic station in the Czech Republic - before entry

All persons (including Czech citizens) with the exception of specified categories (international transport workers, EU citizens and foreigners with permanent or long-term residence in the EU who transit through the Czech Republic within 12 hours, diplomats and officials of international organizations registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs days and children under 5 years of age) who have stayed for more than 12 hours in the last 14 days in the territory of countries that are not on the list of countries with a low risk of COVID-19 are newly according to point I./2. protective measure obliged to:

    1. before entering the territory of the Czech Republic, notify this fact to the relevant regional hygienic station by filling in the electronic Arrival Form – available at:  www.prijezdovyformular.cz

    2. submit a notification at the border or residence check;

    3. immediately (no later than within 5 days of entry into the territory of the Czech Republic) to undergo an RT-PCR test in the territory of the Czech Republic at their own expense.

Therefore, the arrival on the territory is not announced until its realization, but in advance, i.e. before the actual entry into the territory, in a new way, which is to fill in an electronic form via the Internet, with subsequent notification at the border / residence control.

II.   Recognition of RT-PCR tests from other EU member states

EU citizens and third-country nationals with a long-term or permanent residence permit in one EU Member State can now undergo an RT-PCR test in another EU Member State at their own expense before their arrival in the Czech Republic. This can replace the obligation to pass the RT-PCR test on arrival in the Czech Republic. The test must not be older than 72 hours when submitted in the Czech Republic (see point III./5 of the new protective measure).

If travelers from Egypt are not EU citizens or citizens of a third country with a long-term or permanent residence permit in an EU Member State, they still have to pass the RT-PCR test upon arrival in the Czech Republic.

III.   Prohibition of free movement

Prohibition of free movement of persons (with the exception of persons under 5 years of age), who have stayed for more than 12 hours in the last 14 days in the territory of countries not on the list of countries with low risk of COVID 19, must be newly followed either for (1.) the entire period of stay in the territory, (2.) for the duration of the quarantine measure or (3.) for at least 10 days from the entry into the territory of the Czech Republic.

According point II of the new protective measure, the exceptions are as follows:

- journeys to and from the work and journeys to engage in entrepreneurial or other similar activities, including journeys to and movements from educational institutions; this does not apply in the case of the procedure under point I. 11. of the new protective    measure,

- journeys strictly necessary to provide for the basic necessities of life, to ensure the care of children, to ensure the care of animals, to use the necessary financial and postal services, to refuel,

- journeys to medical and social services facilities,
