The Consulate of the Czech Republic has donated to the NSW State Library several Czech books in English (Jirotka´s Saturnin, children books of Little Mole, Golden Prague, Czech Design etc.) to extend its collection of the Czech literature and books about the Czech Republic.
Alex Byrne, NSW State Librarian and the CEO discussed with the vice-consul Šárka Ponroy Vamberová the interest of the Library in the Czech literature with the Australian connection and let her see a valuable Czech picture book for children about Australia published in 1903 in Prague. They further discussed the possibilities of promoting the Czech literature among the Australian readers.
