H. E. Zdeněk Poláček, Former Ambassador to Ethiopia, visits the Czech Embassy in Addis Ababa

The Czech Embassy in Addis Ababa was visited by the former ambassador and renowed expert on Ethiopia, Mr. PhDr. Zdeněk Poláček, CSc. Mr. Poláček used to work as a Czech Ambassador to Ethiopia, and later to Saudi Arabia during the 1990s. Mr. Poláček is still an active scientist, more particularly ethiopist and linguist.
Mr. Poláček the Embassy staff, fellow compatriots and Ethiopian citizens who used to study in the Czech Republic. The meeting took place in a very friendly atmosphere and in a linguistic spirit, during which the attendees discussed the work of Mr. Poláček. He also shared memories of his time in office in Ethiopia in 1990s.
Meeting with compatriots and former students
Mr. Poláček also presented his project of English - Amharic Dictionary of social and political terminology. It is likely that it is the largest work of its kind as it has over 1000 pages. It is a unique work, which is not available in Ethiopia in this quality and several local publishers have already expressed their interest. We hope that the book will be published soon.
