Language for visa/residence proceedings and interpretation

Pursuant to § 16 para. 1 of the Civil Procedure Code, proceedings are conducted and documents are prepared in the Czech language. The parties to the proceedings may act and documents may also be submitted in the Slovak language. Documents prepared in a foreign language must be submitted by the party to the proceedings in the original version and at the same time in an officially certified translation into the Czech language (Czech Judicial Translation).
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ankara hereby announces that in accordance with Section 169 of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., On the Residence of Foreigners in the Czech Republic and on Amendments to Certain Acts (as amended), the working languages of the local authority (Visa Department) are Czech language and English language with the exception for interrogations which according to § 16 of the Administrative Procedure Code are always conducted in Czech language.
