Czech Republic donated equipment for Al-Rahibat Hospital in Baghdad

The project was financed from the Czech development program called "Tied Financial Donation". Supply of hospital equipment for Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and delivery room at Al-Rahibat Hospital in Baghdad has been provided by the Czech company MZ Liberec. Company MZ Liberec installed its medical gas technology in 2021. This project aims at advancing UN Sustainable Development Goal no 3 - Good Health and Well-being.

Czech company MZ Liberec designs, manufactures, supplies and installs distribution systems of medical and industrial gases. An integral part of the manufacturing program are end units of the distribution systems such as Bed Head Units, Medical beams, Ceiling Pendants and other health care devices, which are used for equipping operating rooms, intensive care units, anaesthesiology and resuscitation departments and standard inpatient wards throughout the world. The company also secures supplies and assembling of the sources of medical gases, e.g. oxygen generator, compressor, vacuum, reducing and evaporation station.

So-called "Tied Financial Donation" projects are proposed by the institutions in the receiving country. Proposals are submitted throug the Czech Embassy in the receiving country and approved later by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Implementation of the project has to be done by a Czech company, all in accordance with the initial specifications requested by the local institution in their initial proposal. Donations are later finalized in accordance with the Agreement between the Czech Company and local institution in the receiving country, the Embassy provides monitoring during the whole project.
