The Czech Republic has taken over the local presidency of the Council of the EU in Denmark

On 22 June 2022, a farewell ceremonial to the French Presidency of the Council of the EU took place at the French Embassy in Copenhagen. The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Denmark, Mr. Radek Pech, subsequently symbolically took over the role of the local presidency.

French Chargé d´affairs a. I. Frédéric Rimoux and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Carsten Grønbech-Jensen first briefly assessed the results of the French half-year at the helm of the EU. Then the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Denmark, Mr. Radek Pech, in the Havel context, underlined the perception of Europe as a permanent call for responsibility and action based on common values.

The highlight of the gala evening was a mini-concert of French and Czech classical music, in which Antonín Dvořák's songs shone. The French-Czech symbiosis in Copenhagen will be extended until the beginning of the Czech Presidency, as the concert of Baroque Music Concert will take place within the background of the opening stages of the Cycling Tour de France, which Denmark is hosting for the first time.
