The event was held in the premises of the Ministry of Education of Slovenia.

The meeting between the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, H.E. Mrs Věra Zemanová and the Minister of Education of Slovenia was held before the festive occasion of handover.

Slovenian schools regularly participate in chldren's art competition held by Lidice Memorial. The  competition is well attended every year. 26 Slovenian basic schools with 345 registered works of art participated in the 43rd year of the competition. This year, the awards were given to 18 pupils, one pupil received a medal and one basic school of Rogašovci was given a medal as well. The pupils from the Rogašovci basic school participate in the competition every year. Besides pupils, the headmasters of the schools as well as teachers and parents of th the children participated at the festive handover. The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Slovenia, H. E. Mrs. Věra Zemanová acknowledged in her speech the involvment in the competition from the side of children as well as schools and congratualted award-winners. She also thanked Slovenian Ministry of Education for the help with the organisation of award handover as well as for the arrangement of the information concerning the International children's art exhibition of Lidice to Slovenian schools. The small refreshment followed the festive act of handover.

During the meeting that was held before the handover of awards, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, H.E. Mrs. Věra Zemanová informed the Minister of Education of Slovenia, H. E. Mrs. Maja Makovec Brenčič about existing bilateral cooperaion in the field of education, science and research. Beside other things, she mentioned successful ongoing exchange stays of the students of universtities and visiting pedagogues  in the frame of programs of Erasmus+ and CEEPUS. She remembered last year's celebration of 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Department of West Slavic languages at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana. The last year's celebration was attended, besides the Embassy, by Mr. Lubomír Bánovec, the Director of the Department of International relations of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. The Minister of Education appreciated the cooperation with basic schools in the frame of the project of International children's art exhibition of Lidice.
