Visit of H.E. Mr. Lubomír Zaorálek, Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kenya

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic started on 26.5.2015 his official journey to Africa in Kenya. Minister in Nairobi had met H.E. Amb. Amina Mohamed, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and H.E. Raychell Omama, Cabinet Secretary for Defence. Regional security situation and possibilites for further bilateral economical cooperation were among main topics of their dissussion.

Minister during has stressed during disscussions that the Czech Republic considers Kenya as a key partner in the East African region. Recent reopening of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Nairobi, which was temporarily closed in 2011, proves this situation.

Regional security situation was the main topic during the meeting with CS Omama. As minister Zaorálek stated, Kenya is a key country for security stabilization and a very important partner in a fight against international terrorism. Czech Republic is ready to cooperate with Kenya in this sphere, for example in joined training of armed forces and technology supplies.

Minister Zaorálek was accompanied by a business delegation consisting of almost twenty Czech companies representatives. They had a chance to meet their Kenyan prospective partners during business seminar organized by the Embassy in cooperation with the Czech Chamber of Commerce.
