Exhibition on the occasion of 100 years of establishment of Czechoslovakia

An opening ceremony of the exhibition commemorating 100th anniversary of establishment of Czechoslovakia took place in Chollima House of Culture in center of Pyongyang on October 23rd. The event took place in cooperation with DPRK's Committee for Cultural Relations With Foreign Countries. Ambassador of Czech Republic to DPRK Milan Hupcej in his speech summed up the history of bilateral relations between the two countries and emphasized contributions of Czechoslovakia to the world.

The opening ceremony included a screening of a short historical documentary focused on a hospital in Chongjin city, which became known in the post-Korean War period as the "Czechoslovakian hospital" due to prominent presence and support of Czechoslovakian doctors and nurses. The documentary was followed by a Czechoslovakian movie "Drsna planina" (1979).

The exhibition was opened until October 29th, and was visited by both officials and members of wide public of Pyongyang city. The materials used in exhibition have been prepared by Czech Centres, a contributory organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, and we'd like to express our thanks for their cooperation.
