Exhibition "Czech Castles and Chateaus" at the Yerevan History Museum

The "Czech Castles and Chateaux" exhibition, curated by the National Museum of the Czech Republic, was opened at the History Museum of Armenia in collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Yerevan. During the exhibition's opening ceremony, a significant Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the National Museum of the Czech Republic and the History Museum of Armenia. Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and Mr. Alen Simonyan, Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia were the ceremony´s guests of honour.
 

On January 31, 2023, as part of an official visit of Mrs. Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, to the Republic of Armenia, the "Czech Castles and Chateaux" exhibition premiered at the History Museum of Armenia in Yerevan. The exhibition was prepared by the National Museum of the Czech Republic under the curatorship of Mr. Martin Musil.

During the exhibition's inauguration, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Mr. Davit Poghosyan, Director of the History Museum of Armenia, and Mr. Petr Brůha, Deputy Director General of the National Museum of the Czech Republic, in the presence of both leaders. This historic memorandum marks the onset of collaborative endeavors in exhibitions and museum endeavors between the two nations.

The "Czech Castles and Chateaux" photographic exhibition at the History Museum in Yerevan displays a selection of 25 prominent Czech and Moravian castles and chateaux, showing insights into their exteriors and interiors. Notable landmarks include Prague Castle, Český Krumlov, the Lednice-Valtice area, Karlštejn Castle, and castle complexes in Telč, Litomyšl, and Hluboká Castle.

Furthermore, the National Museum has crafted an interactive section for young visitors, enabling them to construct their own wooden castle with a castle guard.

The exhibition's opening was attended by over 100 invited guests, including members of the diplomatic corpus in Yerevan, representatives from cultural and governmental institutions of the Republic of Armenia, as well as members of the academic community.

The exhibition at the History Museum in Yerevan will be accessible to visitors until March 31, 2024, offering a unique cultural experience for all.
