26th World Road Congress PIARC in Abu Dhabi

On October 6-10, 2019, 26th World Road Congress of the World Road Organization (PIARC) was held in Abu Dhabi. The Czech delegation was led by Mr. Tomáš Čoček, First Deputy Minister of Transport.

During the Congress the Czech Republic took over organization of 27th World Road Congress which will be held in Prague in 2023. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Infrastructure Development of the United Arab Emirates H.E. Mr. Abdullah Al Nuaimi and President of PIARC Mr. Claude van Rooten.

Nearly 150 countries were represented at the congress with more than 2000 delegates.

In the exhibition area, the Czech Republic participated by a national stand where domestic projects in road transport and information about the preparation of the 27th Congress in Prague were presented.
