Exhibition of Hanzelka and Zikmund in Cape Town

On 10 April 2019 there was an exhibition held at the Visegrad House in Cape Town celebrating the opening of the exhibition of the first travels of Engineers Hanzelka and Zikmund on the occasion of the 100th Birthday of Mr. Miroslav Zikmund.

 

The Exhibition titled „Africa - The Dream and the Reality after 70 years“ started in the year 2017, was created by the profesors from the West Bohemian University in Pilzen on the 70th Anniversary of the first travels by car across Africa.

The exhibition was organised by Mrs. Anna Syková, Consul of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria. It was followed by a classical concert of Mr. Jan Pech, a violoncellist from Prague and Mrs. Megan Geoffrey Prins, pianist from Cape Town. During the evening there were compositions by Bohuslav Martin – Variances of Rossini themes, by David Popper – Elfentanz and by Ondřej Kukal - Violloncelliana.
