Information for visa applicants

The consular section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Riga does not have the capacity to accept visa applications. Since 2011, this agenda has been transferred and handled at the consular section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Warsaw. Starting from May 2, 2023, the agenda for visas and all other residence permits will be centralized to the Visa center at the General Consulate of the Czech Republic in Dresden.

With effect from 2011, the handling of the visa and residence agenda was terminated at the CZ Embassy in Riga, and the visa department has already not operate within the consular section. Citizens who would like to apply for either a short-term visa (up to 90 days of stay) or any other residence title for the Czech Republic (long-term visa, long-term residence, blue card, etc.) from May 2, 2023 must contact the Visa Center at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Dresden. The consular section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Warsaw, which used to represent our office in the visa agenda, is only completing the processing of applications submitted by 30 April 2023. All new applications and questions concerning visas and other residence permits must now be addressed exclusively to the General Consulate of the Czech Republic in Dresden.
