The purpose of "scientific research"

Long-term residence permit for the purpose of scientific research is intended for foreigners who have concluded a hosting agreement with a research institution and will carry out scientific research in the Czech Republic for a period longer than three months.

Long-term scientific research application requirements:

o   application form

o   travel document

o   2 photos

o   biometric features – fingerprints

o   fee

o   supporting documents

  • hosting agreement
  • written obligation of the research institution that it will cover potential expenses connected with the stay of the scientific researcher on the territory of the Czech Republic after the expiration of the residence permit, incl. expenses connected with the departure from the Czech Republic, if they were accrued within six months after the hosting agreement expiration and were covered from public funds

o   criminal record extract issued by the state of the applicant´s citizenship and by the state where the applicant resided in the last three years for more than six months

o   upon request a document proving fulfillment of measures against spread of infectious disease

o   travel health insurance – in case of visa issuance
