The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of Kosovo has withdrawn mandatory homologations for new cars produced for the European Union market. This is an important step towards removing trade barriers between the countries of the European Union and Kosovo.
Kosovo Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport announced that starting October 29, 2019 compulsory homologations for new cars manufactured for the European Union market and imported by authorized dealers into Kosovo were abolished. This is an important step towards removing trade barriers between the countries of the European Union and Kosovo. Until now, every vehicle imported into Kosovo had to undergo these homologations. This information is good news not only for Kosovo consumers but also for Czech car manufacturers. Thousands of Škoda and Hyundai passenger cars produced in the Czech Republic operate in Kosovo and rank among the most popular on the market. The European Union Office in Kosovo also welcomed the report on the abolition of compulsory homologations for newly imported cars.
